James (Jimmy) Maurin, CRX, CSM


James (Jimmy) Maurin is one of the founders of Stirling Properties and served as its chairman from 1992 through 2012.   He graduated in Aerospace Engineering from LSU in 1970 and received an MBA from Tulane University in 1972.  He began his business career as a CPA with the international accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst.  He has been active in commercial real estate and development and the shopping center industry for nearly four decades.

His volunteer work is extensive.  He is a member of the ICSC Board of Trustees and Professional Development Committee (Chair), as well as the Executive Compensation Committee.  He was Worldwide Chairman in 2004-2005.  He has earned the Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and Certified Shopping Center Executive (CRX) designations.

He is past Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of Ochsner Health System.  He is Past Chairman, Member of Executive Committee, and Founding Trustee of Blueprint Louisiana.

At his alma mater LSU, he is a Member of the Executive Committee and Past Chairman of the Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF); Member of the LSU Foundation; Member, LSU College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council; Chairman of the LSU Tiger Stadium Expansion Committee; Founding Member, Executive Committee, LSU Flagship Coalition.

At Tulane, he is a Member of the Tulane University Freeman Business School Council.
Maurin is Past Chairman and Founding Member of the Board of Directors, Northshore Community Foundation.

At the Urban Land Institute, he is Past Chairman of the ULI Louisiana District Council, as well as member of the ULI Small Scale Development Council.

He is on the Board of Trustees of the National World War II Museum and a member of the Chief Executives Organization
