Christine Szalay Strange

Christine Szalay Strange is vice president of operations for Daniel Corporation, an innovative full-service real estate company with a diverse portfolio of office, multifamily, master-planned residential, resort, golf, urban mixed-use, retail, hospitality, medical and senior living properties. In her role, Christine serves as the general manager for Daniel Corp’s Outlet Shops of Grand River, a distinctive outlet shopping destination located minutes from Birmingham.  

Bringing more than 30-years of experience including extensive work in the marketing and tourism arenas to Daniel Corporation and The Outlets Shops of Grand River, Christine is charged with all managing all aspects of the shopping destination including planning and development, property operations, leasing, tenant relations, budget, administration and staff management.

Prior to relocating to Alabama, Christine resided in Dallas and worked with both the Dallas Convention & Visitor Bureau along with the Dallas Arts District where she developed and executed a new cultural tourism program for North Texas. Prior to joining the Dallas CVB, she spent 8-years as the Corporate Director of Marketing for NorthPark Center, also located in Dallas, where she successfully developed and managed a repositioning plan for the property’s 1.2 million square foot expansion, among many other achievements.

As a recognized expert in retail tourism, Szalay spent 4 years at the Tourism Director for Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas after serving as the corporate Director of Tourism and Group Sales for Prime Retail where she oversaw the tourism programs for 52-outlet centers nationwide. Prior to joining Prime Retail, she was the Director of Marketing for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and was responsible for all marketing programs, sales (both leisure market and group) the museum’s membership program, and visitor operations including ticketing and visitor services, tourism-related sponsorships and special event programs.

Active in the both retail and tourism industries, Christine is currently a member of the Shop America Alliance Executive Committee. She has also served two terms on the board of directors of the Texas Travel Industry Association as well as many other civic and industry organizations. Szalay is past Chairman of the National Attractions Council and served on the board of the US Travel Association.
